Research
The overarching aim of my work is to generate research evidence that can be used to promote equitable access to health resources and eliminate racial disparities in chronic health conditions. My work focuses on investigating the structural and contextual determinants of health, such as structural racism and community conditions. My scholarship includes policy evaluation and examining the causes and consequences of political choices. My work centers around the belief that the individuals most impacted by a policy must have a voice in the policymaking process and implementation if such policies are to be effective in producing equitable and positive health outcomes. My work has been published in high-impact journals, including the American Journal of Public Health, American Journal of Epidemiology, and Health Affairs.
